3 Kid-Friendly Balance Exercises for a Fun Family Workout at Home

As a parent, finding creative ways to keep your children active and healthy can be a challenge, and that is we made our Kids Balance Workout where we picked three of our favourite activities!

So here's how and why these activities can help kids improve their stability and coordination.

Balance exercises helps kids to improve coordination, agility, and stability, which are essential for play, sport, overall health and wellbeing. For children, balance exercises can be especially beneficial as they help to develop their motor skills, improve their posture, and prevent injuries.

The Best THREE Kids Balance Exercises:

  1. Single-Leg Ball Lifts:

Single-leg Lifts are an excellent exercise for improving balance, stability, and strength. They work the entire lower body, including the glutes, hamstrings, and core. To perform a single-leg ball lift , stand on one leg with your knee slightly bent. Then, hinge forward from your hips while keeping your back straight, and reach towards the ground with the ball. Return to the starting position and repeat on the other leg ten times.

  1. Reach Aways:

Reach aways are a fun and challenging exercise that helps to improve core stability and balance. Start by standing on one foot with your knee slightly bent. Then, reach away with the ball in front of you and hold for a few seconds before returning to the starting position. Repeat on the other side, this si great for our body awareness, proprioception and understanding our body in space..

  1. Side to Side Hops:

Side to side hops are a great way to improve coordination, agility, and balance. Start by standing with your feet together. Then, jump to the right and land on your right foot, keeping your left foot off the ground. Jump back to the left and land on your left foot, keeping your right foot off the ground. Repeat 10 times, progress to standing on a single leg and hopping onto the other leg for a challenge!

How These Exercises Will Help Your Kids:

By incorporating these three balance exercises into your family workout routine, your kids will be able to improve their stability, coordination, and strength. Single-leg touches and reach aways will help to improve their core strength and posture, while side to side hops will help to improve their agility and balance.
